Dayton's Deeds Point

Downtown isn't where you usually think of going to find wildlife, but downtown Dayton plays host to the Great Miami River and numerous tributaries. During winter, northern waterfowl seek shelter and food in the shallow, unfrozen waters. This last week, we've visited Deeds Point Metropark and Island Park Reservoir finding numerous species including Goldeneye, Bufflehead, Hooded Merganser, Great Blue Heron, and even a Peregrine Falcon.
